The well-known St Petersburg philologist, Associate Professor of St Petersburg University Fedor Dviniatin will deliver a lecture dedicated to a most fascinating problem that has challenged the humanities for years. How does the author of a literary work or a film director manage to create a ‘territory of uncertainty’, i.e. a situation when the same event can be seen as equivocal or uncertain, or even utterly inexplicable? Such situations and ambiguous events are not uncommon in Vladimir Nabokov’s prose of his mature years, which is the main subject of the lecture by Fedor Dviniatin.

The event will be in person at the Vladimir Nabokov Museum, 47 Bolshaya Morskaya Street
