Dmitri Mendeleev — the Russian scientist and polymath — is often called the last natural philosopher. These characteristics accurately describe Mendeleev’s interests and activities. In his extensive personal library, Dmitri Mendeleev collected publications covering almost all branches of science of his time.
The exhibition is presented by the Dmitri Mendeleev Museum and Archives at St Petersburg University. It tells visitors about encyclopaedias and rare books from the personal library of the great Russian scientist.
