Grigory Kruzhkov is a famous poet, translator, and literary critic.
The lecture focuses on creative evolution of the famous English-speaking poet Wysten Hugh Auden. Auden’s creative evolution as a poet was parallel to the evolution of his worldview, i.e. from left-wing views in his youth through the crisis of the late 1930s to Christian liberalism and further to the Horatian poise of his last period. This evolution will be illustrated by a number of key texts: from ‘Funeral Blues’ to ‘Ode to Terminus’.
