Grigorii Kruzhkov, a famous poet, translator and literary critic, will talk about the creative evolution of the famous English-speaking poet Wystan Hugh Auden. Auden’s creative evolution as a poet was parallel to the evolution of his worldview: from left-wing views in his youth through the crisis of the late 1930s to Christian liberalism and further to the Horatian poise of his last period. This movement will be illustrated by a number of key texts, from ‘Funeral Blues’ to ‘Ode to Terminus’.
